Halton Regional Police Service is appealing to the public for help identifying a hit-and-run driver who struck a teenage boy at a Burlington intersection this summer.
The collision happened on Friday, July 10, 2026, at about 9:50 a.m., according to the Halton Regional Police Service. A teenaged male pedestrian was walking through the intersection of Appleby Line and Dundas Street when he was struck by a vehicle that was attempting to turn onto Dundas Street from Appleby Line.
The driver stopped and briefly spoke with the boy before continuing east on Dundas Street, police said.
The teen later went to hospital, where he was found to have sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not said whether charges are being considered or what charges a driver might face if identified. The investigation remains open.
Investigators are now asking anyone with information about the collision to come forward. That includes anyone who may have dash cam video recorded in the area around the time of the crash.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Luke Huinink by email at luke.huinink@haltonpolice.ca.
Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
Halton police regularly ask motorists involved in a collision to remain at the scene, render aid and wait for emergency services. Leaving the scene of a collision is a criminal offence in Ontario.
