Comuters who buy or top up PRESTO cards at Finch GO Bus Terminal have about a week left to do so at the terminal's newsstand.
Gateway Newstands inside the terminal will stop offering PRESTO services effective Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, according to a York Region Transit service notice. That means customers will no longer be able to buy cards, reload them or set fare types at that location.
Finch GO Bus Terminal is a major connection point for riders travelling between Toronto and York Region, and the change affects anyone who has relied on the newsstand for in-person PRESTO transactions.
What riders can do
York Region Transit says customers who need further assistance can call 1-866-668-3978 or use the live chat feature on the transit agency's website.
Riders who currently load their cards at the Gateway Newstands location should plan ahead and make alternative arrangements before the Oct. 24 cutoff, as no replacement service inside the terminal was named in the notice.
The change takes effect nine days after the publication of the notice, on a Saturday, ahead of the start of the following week's Monday morning commute.
