Toronto Catholic school students and families now have a new point of contact for concerns that cannot be addressed at their school: the board’s Student and Family Support Office.
According to a Toronto Catholic District School Board announcement, the office is open to help families navigate questions and connect with additional support at the board level. It can direct inquiries to a superintendent or other appropriate board personnel when further review or assistance is needed.
The board says families should still start with their child’s teacher or principal, because most concerns are best resolved at school. The new office provides a route to additional support when a matter cannot be addressed there.
How to request support
Students and families seeking help through the office must begin by completing the Student and Family Support Form. The board says this step is intended to direct each inquiry to the right staff member and help ensure a timely response.
Once the form is submitted, the person making the inquiry will receive a confirmation email containing a case number. That number acknowledges the inquiry and can be used to track its progress.
The case number is required for a response. The board says office staff can respond only to inquiries that have a number generated through the form, making submission of the form an essential part of the process.
After receiving confirmation, families can expect follow-up from Student and Family Support Office staff or a direct connection to the board personnel responsible for the matter.
For anyone who needs help completing the form, staff can be reached at 416-397-6222, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern time. The phone number is provided for assistance with completing the form; the board directs support inquiries through the form itself.
Start with the school
The board also points families to its Student and Family Support webpage, which sets out the recommended steps for raising concerns and having them addressed. Reviewing that page can help families understand the process before seeking further board-level assistance.
The office’s role is to connect families with support beyond the school when needed, while keeping the teacher or principal as the starting point for most issues. Where a concern requires additional review, office staff will help connect the family with a superintendent or the appropriate board staff.
The opening follows a letter from Ontario’s education minister that was sent home on Nov. 13, 2025. That letter introduced the creation of Student and Family Support Offices in school boards across the province, according to the board’s announcement.
