Tickets for the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's 2026/27 season went on sale to the public Wednesday morning, alongside the announcement of four new special performances featuring artists ranging from cellist Yo-Yo Ma to K-pop star Wendy of Red Velvet.

Single tickets for the full season, which runs from September 2026 to June 2027, became available starting at 10 a.m. on July 15, with prices beginning at $30 for most performances, according to a TSO news release. A presale for donors and subscribers ran July 13 and 14.

New shows span classical, jazz, film and K-pop

The newly announced programs include an evening with Yo-Yo Ma, a long-time collaborator with the orchestra, and a performance by Samara Joy, the six-time Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist. Both are described by the TSO as being among the most anticipated events of the coming season.

The orchestra is also partnering with World Wildlife Fund Canada to screen the 2025 nature documentary Ocean with David Attenborough accompanied by live orchestral music.

A fourth addition is a symphonic K-pop celebration created in partnership with SM Entertainment, featuring a special appearance by Wendy from Red Velvet.

The programs were curated by Music Director Gustavo Gimeno.

Extra dates added for two popular concerts

Due to popular demand, the TSO has also added second performances of two previously announced concerts: Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert Live-to-Film, on Oct. 18, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., and Sci-Fi Throwdown, on Apr. 2, 2027 at 7:30 p.m.

One performance is co-presented by Roy Thomson Hall and the TSO, with tickets sold through the Roy Thomson Hall box office, where TSO ticket exchanges, account credit and gift cards do not apply.

Season highlights and new look

Beyond the special performances, the 2026/27 season includes an opening concert with pianist Yuja Wang, the completion of a two-year Beethoven symphony cycle, and separate appearances by three members of the Kanneh-Mason family.

Other highlights include a Lunar New Year celebration with programs across three concert series, the Canadian premiere of composer Joe Hisaishi's new piano concerto, which he will conduct himself, and tributes to the music of James Bond, Whitney Houston, Broadway and swing. The season closes with Mahler's Eighth Symphony, known as the "Symphony of a Thousand."

The orchestra is also rolling out a refreshed brand identity alongside the ticket launch, which the TSO describes as a reflection of an orchestra shaped by Toronto's diversity, creativity and energy.

Tickets can be purchased through TSO.CA, by phone, or at the TSO Patron Services Centre. Subscription packages offer savings of up to 35 per cent off single-ticket prices, and a free membership program for ages 15 to 35 offers discounted rush tickets for select performances.

The orchestra presents more than 120 concerts each year at Roy Thomson Hall and George Weston Recital Hall, and runs education and community programs across the Greater Toronto Area, including the tuition-free Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.
